Come WWOOF with us...
Chive and couch grass (sorry about the out of focus effect!)

You are welcome to come and WWOOF at Steward Wood. Phone us (0845 458 1926 or 01647 440233) if you are interested in booking a place. (WWOOFing is a splendid system wherein people visit interesting organic type places and work in exchange for food and accomodation.). Mostly people come on a short term basis (for up to 2 weeks) but there are also long term WWOOFing opportunities available.

Home Education Picnics and Science

We are running a monthly picnic in the woods for home educating families to come and share food, chat over tea and enjoy the woods with the children. Please bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing for the weather. It will run from 11am to 3pm on the first Friday of the month. We are also now running science sessions once a month. Please check the website or phone (Beccy 07941 786552) before coming just in case of cancellation. More info...

Open Day

Come and visit our low impact structures, renewable energy systems, permaculture gardens, woodland management operations, and the beautiful woodland. As well as guided tours, there'll be refreshments and cake round the fire along with information and books to peruse.

At the moment, we do not have a date set for our next Open Day.

Courses at the Woods

We have an extensive set of courses taking place this year at the woods covering subjects such as permaculture design, renewable energy, low impact building, wild food, organic gardening, and tree felling using hand tools. If you wish to book a place, please contact us or you can now book on-line (book early as places are limited).

Tours and Talks

We offer educational tours, slide shows and talks about our life and work here researching and demonstrating low impact living in community. Phone or email us to arrange a tailor-made Steward Community Woodland educational experience for your school, group, college or club.
