For sale from Steward Wood

Here follows a list of products and services that are available from our sustainable woodland. When you buy from us you are supporting our project, as well as helping us to acheive financial sustainability. We try to avoid using fossil fuelled machinery, althouhgh we do use petrol chainsaws for cross ccutting large trees when they have been felled. We also use hand tools such as axes, 2 person saws, and a few electrical tools powered from our hydro and solar battery bank. (What's wrong with fossil fuels?)

Prices are negotiable if not listed. To order or discuss any of these exciting consumer oppurtunities, phone us on 440 233 (local), or 0845 458 1926(cheap national rate ) - please leave a message if no one answers.

Sawlogs - we can supply various lengths and widths of Norway Spruce, Scots Pine, Japanese/European Larch and Ash sawlogs. We have not yet set up our fossil fuel free sawmill, so the raw material is the best we can do, but we can guarantee that no petrol chainsaws have been used in their production. The forestry season (September to March) is the best time for this, not
least because it keeps us warm...

Polewood - we have Ash, Douglas Fir and Sycamore polewood (smaller diameter trees, up to a foot in diameter ) for sale, in lots of shapes and sizes, again the forestry season is the best time to harvest these.

Bender building and materials - we now have years of experience in weaving and bending structures out of hazel and other bendy greenwood poles. We can build you a temporary (2-4 years?) structure very quickly (a couple of days) for an event, a workshop, a storehouse, a lean to etc. The outer shell is usually breathable second hand canvas or brightly coloured polypropylene tarpaulins, which can be hired or bought from us or we can direct you to suppliers. We also sell bender poles for your own creations, and advise on construction, stove fitting , flooring, planning issues etc.
